Hamdy is an expert in corporate law, commercial law, civil law, banking law and IP law. He has extensive experience advising on corporate legal issues including, but not limited to M&A, joint ventures, complex corporate restructure, IPOs, companies’ law, investment law and capital market law. He is also experienced in the fields of trade law issues including, but not limited to distributorships, commercial agency, technology transfer, bankruptcy and cheques. Hamdy drafts and negotiates all types of commercial agreements.
Experience
Siemens
Before leaving to start Legalia, Hamdy was the General Counsel of Siemens Technologies SAE. Hamdy supervised Siemen Egypt’s legal disputes handled by external law firms (arbitrations and ordinary court cases) and also advised and supported the top management and business divisions on all types of commercial contracts (e.g. agency, distributorships, supply, service, consultancy, JVs), intellectual property, labor/employment, litigation, antitrust and corporate/securities, etc. He proactively assessed and managed risks and dealt with all legal matters for the firm in Egypt. He also advised on mergers and acquisitions including drafting/negotiating transactional agreements and ancillary documents (including letters of intent and NDAs), conducting and/or overseeing due diligence on targets as well as instructing and liaising.

Prior to his work at PwC, Hamdy began his career in El-Bably Law Office.
Dentons
Before his work at Siemens, Hamdy was Head of Corporate & Commercial Department at Dentons (formerly known as SNR Denton). Hamdy advised international clients on complex corporate restructuring and planning and has handled all types of M&A, corporate, commercial, capital market work for international clients. Also, Hamdy was defending and representing clients in commercial litigation and international and arbitration.
PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC)
Prior to Dentons, Hamdy was a Senior Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) -Tax & Legal Services Department (TLS). During his years with PwC, Hamdy gained important experience in advising multinational clients on a diverse array of subjects of importance for business in Egypt including: the taxation system in Egypt, Labor and Social Security Laws, investment and corporate structures, IP issues, and Egyptian import and export regulations.
Qualifications
Hamdy holds bachelor of law degree from Faculty of Law, Cairo University and has over 25 years of solid experience in the legal sector.
